A body discovered by horrified ground staff who noticed blood dripping from a US plane which was carrying suitcases of cash have been handed over to South African authorities , it has been claimed.
The man, who a source told the media was of ‘African’ appearance, had burns on his head.
However , a pathology report issued in Zimbabwe says “The body of the deceased was discovered on the plane and a post -mortem was conducted at Parirenyatwa Hospital. There were no external, internal injuries , bone fractures and foreign bodies on the body. The pathologists opinionated that the cause of death was asphyxia secondary to oxygen absence”.
“The plane left early this morning” for South Africa, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said by phone on Saturday. A dead body discovered on board was still considered a suspected stowaway, she said.
The aircraft, owned by U.S. cargo carrier Western Global Airlines, had been at the airport in Harare, the capital, since Sunday. The plane was traveling to South Africa from Germany and had landed in the southern African nation to refuel when the body was discovered. The SARB confirmed that the currency on the plane had arrived in South Africa and is now under its possession.
