Airforce of Zimbabwe Officer Killed Over Booze

An Airforce of Zimbabwe officer brawled and was killed by his colleague over a six-pack of Golden Pilsener.

The two men had been drinking at a night club in Old Mbizo in Kwekwe last week when a fight erupted over the booze. Kelvin Nhete, based at Air Defence Regiment in Redcliff, fatally assaulted his colleague, Phillip Muhenyeri, whom he accused of stealing the six-pack.

Nhete (29) appeared before a Kwekwe magistrate charged with murder. He was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody to September 9. He was advised to apply to the High Court for bail consideration.

The court heard that Nhete assaulted Muhenyeri with a blunt object and left him lying on the ground. He was later taken to Kwekwe Hospital where he passed away. Nhete was tracked down and arrested.
