Banned driver Mugabe caught drink-driving in Coventry ,UK

A young man who was caught drink-driving in Hillfields was already banned from getting behind the wheel.

Panashe Mugabe gave a positive reading when a silver Vauxhall Vectra was stopped in Swan Lane on January 21.

His reading of 47 microgrammes (mcg) of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath was above the legal limit of 35 mcg.

When Mugabe, 22, of The Lindfield, Stoke Aldermoor, appeared before magistrates he pleaded guilty to drink-driving, as well as driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and wilfully obstructing a police officer.

He was given a further three-year driving ban and also handed a 12-week prison sentence suspended for a year and 100 hours unpaid work.

Mugabe was also ordered to take part in a Drink Impaired Drivers Programme and must pay £135 court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.-coventrytelegraph.net
