Chadzamira is the new Minister of State for Masvingo.
Analysts said Hungwe who once served as the Governor for Masvingo for 17 continuous years and was reappointed to the position after the soft coup of November 2017 clearly showed that he is not happythat he has not  been reappointed as the Minister of State or got an even better position in Cabinet
His name was not mentioned at the party either, except when the list of former governors of the province was read out.
Hungwe who during the time of Mugabe’s presidency openly declared his support for Mnangagwa as the next President of the country neither attended the appointment party held by Chadzamira at the Civic Centre in Masvingo on Monday nor sent a congratulatory message to his successor.
No reason was given for his absence from  a function attended by the who is who of Masvingo Province.
Hungwe could not be reached for comment by the time of going to print as his mobile phone was not available.
Chadzamira said……
In the Midlands there was a cordial handover-takeover ceremony between the new Minister of State for the province …… Mavhima and his predecessor ……Ncube on …….Ncube told people gathered at his farewell party that after leaving office he was going to go into farming.
Many people interviewed by The Mirror hailed Mnangagwa for taking the bold steps to retire aged politicians even when they were his ardent loyalists.
They said ‘retiring’ Hungwe was a positive move for the province as the man was too old and out of touch with most issues discussed in meetings.
“Hungwe spent most of his time quoting the Bible and officials had a tough time trying to explain or even teach him concepts. The old man was IT illiterate and this made him a very bad leader,” said …….
Mnangagwa showed what it really means to lead when he retired his closest friends in the interest of the country, said ………
