Camouflaged UNISA student arrested

A STUDENT with University of South Africa landed herself in trouble with the law after she wore a camouflaged pair of trousers on her way back home from college.

Natalie Chitaka (25) was arrested for wearing the clothes that resembled military regalia. She pleaded guilty to the charges.

Public Prosecutor, Mr Fletcher Karombe, told the court that on January 18 at 2:30pm, the accused was approached by Detective Constable Maraga at Sakubva Musika.

The suspect was asked if she had permission to wear the clothes, but failed to give a satisfactory answer.

She was subsequently arrested.

In her defence, Chitaka told the court that she was not aware that it was an offence to wear such clothes. Mutare magistrate, Mr Poterai Gwezhira, warned and cautioned her.
