Gillian Zvomuya, 35, was found with suspected stab wounds outside Lidl in Kitts Green, Birmingham at around 4.45am on Monday, 30th Jan 2017 and is believed to have been murdered by her husband, Nobert Chikerema who is in police custody charged with her murder.

A post on the Go Fund Me website reads: ‘Gillian ‘was’ a loving mother, sister and daughter. She was brutally and unfairly taken away from this life on the 30th of Jan 2017. However her legacy remains in her children, in the sweet spirit they inherited from her. Her smile, her laugh will be always stay close to those who were fortunate enough to be with her. Please support her kids, Panashe 17, Chloe 5, Haley 11, Ryan 7 to continue to live and spread the same spirit she lived by. After the storm is the rainbow, the sun will shine again. Rest easy now Gillian, your children are in our hands now.’

Meanwhile, Norbert Chikerema, aged 42, who has been charged with the murder of his wife Gillian Zvomuya (aka Nyasha Kahari) was brought before the courts on Thursday and has since been ordered to re-appear on Monday.

Chikerema of Overdale Road, Quinton appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’s Court Thursday morning charged with the murder of Zvomuya, whose post-mortem reports indicate she died of head injuries.

Chikerema was remanded in custody and will appear again at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday.

Zvomuya’s family have paid tribute to the “caring and hard-working” mum-of-four.

In a statement, her family said: “Gillian was a decent, loving mother of four children, two boys and two girls. She was a caring and hardworking woman who always strived to keep her family happy.

“She will be missed by her family and all those who knew her. We hope that for her sake justice will prevail and closure can be brought to this unprecedented chapter.”

A Go Fund Me page set up to on 30th January 2017 raise £10,000 for Gillian’s children has so far raised £1, 320 as of Saturday, 4th February 2017.
