Grace Mugabe: Trophy wife’s adulterous relationships with 5 men

What is surely among the most significant office romances on earth began some time in the late 1980s. She was Grace Marufu, a young woman of barely 20 who had recently been taken on as a typist at State House in Harare. He was Robert Mugabe, 41 years her senior, not only her boss but the boss of Zimbabwe since its independence, the struggle for which he had led.

    Grace Mugabe  had an affair with a married Mugabe when his wife Sally was battling a chronic kidney ailment.
    Mugabe dealt with Grace’s husband, Wing Commander Stanley Goreraza by dispatching him to work as a defence attaché at the Zimbabwean embassy in China. Goreraza and Grace had one child, a son, Russell Goreraza, who now manages his mother’s extensive farm property, Gushungo Dairy.

  2. Peter PamirePamire was a prominent Zimbabwean entrepreneur who died in a tragic car accident.Pamire died in a car crash on March 9, 1997 after his car brakes failed him resulting in the accident which claimed his life. It is said that Pamire’s Mitsubishi Pajero developed a technical problem and overturned along Addington Lane in Ballantyne Park, Borrowdale.There were widespread speculations that the car that he was driving was tempered with before the accident actually happened. It was also claimed that about twenty people testified on the case forcing the judge to order a thorough investigation but the investigation never took off.
    Among some of the rumours surrounding the death of Pamire were allegations that he was having an affair with the first lady Grace Mugabe before the time of his death.

    Mugabe’s most trusted bodyguard who was present at the time said, Sabina Mugabe, 75, warned her brother before she died that he was being betrayed by two of the most important people in his personal and political life: his wife and his personal banker, a pivotal member of his regime.
    Sabina told the president that Grace and Gideon Gono, the powerful head of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and Mugabe’s confidant, were secret lovers.

    One of Zimbabwe’s richest businessmen and a top-ranking Zanu-PF official, enjoyed her favours but their affair ended in tears, too, when a furious and sexually jealous Mugabe ran him out of town in fear of his life.
  5. Robert Mugabe
    Mugabe’s marriage to Grace is itself founded on an adulterous relationship which shocked many Zimbabweans at the time. Grace was working as a junior secretary in the typing pool in Mugabe’s office and married to an air force officer when the two began having an affair. They had two children while Mugabe’s first wife, Sally – who was universally popular – battled a terminal kidney disease. After her death in 1996, Mugabe wed Grace, who is widely loathed and notorious for her lavish shopping sprees.
