Job seeker dies on bus seat as he returns from SA

NGUNDU – A man from Zaka who had gone to look for employment in South Africa died on the bus as he made his way back after an unsuccessful mission.
Simbarashe Chakanyuka (46) of Chenjefu Village, Chief Bota died between Beitbridge and Ngundu after boarding a Mandeep Bus in Beitbridge on Wednesday night.
Police could not immediately comment on the incident.
It is understood that Chakanyuka requested to disembark and relieve himself three times along the way. He later exchanged seats with another passenger as he wanted to sit next to the passageway. After the exchange of seats, Anna Maoneke of Chief Musikavanhu, Chipinge who was sitting next to Chakanyuka fell asleep.
When Maoneke woke up she saw Chakanyuka sleeping with his body overlapping to the next seat and she tried to wake him up but Chakanyuka did not respond until Maoneke told the conductor of the bus.
The conductor tried to wake Chakanyuka up but later realised that he had already passed away. The bus turned at Ngundu Police Station to report the matter. The body was conveyed to Chiredzi General Hospital and the post mortem showed that Chakanyuka had died from massive stroke.local news
