Mugabe receives special mobile chair from Zanu PF cabinet as a belated birthday gift

Zimbabwe’s president Robert Mugabe was  handed a bizarre belated  birthday gift  of special mobile chair from his Zanu PF cabinet at a special ceremony in Harare.

According to state broadcaster ZBC, the 93 year old  veteran leader who has been in power since 1980,thanked the ministers for putting their heads together in coming up with the idea of the gift .

Dr Alex Magaisa  took it to twitter saying ” So President Mugabe’s Cabinet gave him a birthday gift of a ‘special mobile chair’. Does he get the message?”

He was also given a brand new 9 carat watch called the Gushungo brand and a pen, also a Gushungo label

“Mugabe appeared frail at his birthday party on February 25, and this present seems to send a clear message that he is old enough and should retire”, said a UK based MDC-T activist Mr Tawanda Muchanyuka.

Mugabe’s health has been subject of increased speculation in recent years, and he regularly flies to Singapore for medical attention.

Despite his advanced age, Mugabe’s ruling Zanu-PF party last year endorsed him as its candidate for the 2018 general elections.
