Former Foreign Affairs minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi who lost his portfolio from Cabinet earlier last week after 12 years has been accused of neglecting President Robert Mugabe during foreign trips.
Mumbengegwi, 72, served as Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2005 to 2017 has been re-deployed as Minister of Macro-Economic Planning and Investment Promotion, a post viewed by many as a demotion.
Sources closed to the First Family told this publication that Grace Mugabe was angry with Mumbengegwi for what she called an embarrassment to her family during foreign trips.

Grace wanted him dropped from the cabinet altogether before Mugabe decided to give him another lifeline for his loyalty to him.
“My detractors have been alleging that I angrily removed Cde Simba from the foreign affairs portfolio because he has failed to stop me from dozing off at international summits…Such unconscionable malice!”, says Mugabe.
Grace cited a 2015 event when SaharaReporters Crew Encounter With Robert Mugabe During Buhari’s Inauguration, a time Mugabe wets himself during a summit in Botswana and many times he fell asleep in public saying Simbabarashe could have stopped all that as a foreign minister.
