Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga has declared that he does not recognise President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election and has announced the formation of a people’s assembly to start preparing for fresh polls, Kenya’s Daily Nation reports.

Furthermore, Odinga says his National Super Alliance (NASA) will form a resistance wing of the coalition to carry out economic boycotts, peaceful processions, picketing and other forms of protests as part of a civil disobedience campaign.
The opposition leader’s declaration follows Kenyatta’s second victory in last week’s rerun of August’s presidential elections which were annulled by the Supreme Court on the grounds of irregularities.
The people’s assembly will comprise elected leaders and key players from civil society, trade unions and youths. NASA also wants amendments to Kenya’s constitution in a bid to make the East African nation more democratic.
Nasa’s National Resistance Movement will shortly announce upcoming dates for the peaceful protests and boycotts.
