Police arrest ‘#ThisFlag’ cricket fans at Queens Sports Club

Several suspected would be protesters including renowned WOZA leader Jenni Williams have been arrested in Bulawayo.

According to the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights(ZLHR), police said the arrests where “preventive” measures during Zimbabwe and New Zealand cricket match at Queens Sports Club.

Below are updates by ZLHR.

Nine WOZA members arrested at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo being taken to Nkulumane Police Station while WOZA leader Jenni Williams is being detained at Donnington.

Police frustrating ZLHR lawyers Mehluli Dube and Solomon Mguni access to their clients as they claim that the WOZA members were arrested for preventative purposes as they were convinced that they intended to stage a protest during the Zimbabwe and New Zealand cricket match.

ZLHR lawyers deployed to attend to the arrest of Samuel Meso, Kudzai Hove, Gift Ostallos Siziba and Rodwell Nyika who were allegedly wearing graduation gowns during the Zimbabwe New Zealand cricket match at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
