Prophet Bushiri Launches South Africa’s Latest Mobile Phone Network

This is power says Uebert Angel as Prophet Bushiri launches South Africa’s latest mobile phone network.prophet-shepard-bushiri

South Africa has just got another virtual network operator from a rather unlikely source. No, it’s not a retailer, nor is it an Austrian beverage company, or even a bank. Instead, it’s Malawi-born church leader and multimillionaire, Prophet  Bushiri, who’s entering the market with his own, eponymous network.

The alternatively-titled Prophet Shepherd Bushiri (PSB) Network, was launched at a lavish ceremony at the Ghallagher convention centre in Midrand, South Africa.

Speaking at the official launch of the network the prime speaker and guest of honour, Prophet Uebert Angel said,

“The first thing I want to say is tonight is one of those nights that I am very proud to be African and to be black, it is when one of our people can touch millions, can do something that is extraordinary that we realise we were all created the same and we can touch the world with everything we have because it is God inspired to have something like this…”

Prophet Angel, went on to say that “It is at such occasions that you can actually say if it can happen with these, I can also do something for myself.”

“I also want to say something that I always say to Prophet Shepherd and Mary Bushiri. Size is relative but power is absolute. We can argue; is he tall, is he short, is he small, is he big? But we can’t argue when we see power. This is power, PSB is power. The network is power, although this is a launch of a mobile phone network there is a lesson in this… ” he continued.

Most affordable rates in South Africa

Speaking to Onward Christian Radio, the representatives of PSB said the network will “provide a service to like-minded primarily individuals who were looking for a more community focused, inclusive operation.”

PSB Network will also use Cell C‘s mobile infrastructure and airtime system, which is a route that many other mobile virtual network operators (MVNO) like Me&You Mobile have taken. This will also allow users to use Cell C airtime vouchers on the network.

But while that seems fairly standard fare for an MVNO in South Africa, the network’s offerings differ slightly from the norm.

Shepherd Bushiri’s network has 99c calls, data rates as low as 12c/MB

PSB Network’s initial Limited Edition starter pack, while offering users 99c calls to any network in SA, will also come with “a complete range of fresh online Christian and Prophetic entertainment including the live audio streaming service of Prophet Shepherd Bushiri on Sundays. There is also a free subscription to daily prayers with every recharge.”

The MVNO will also use internet.org from Facebook for basic internet connectivity, as well as its own social messaging system, Bushiri Buzz. The latter will allow users the “opportunity to meet other individuals on the network and contribute to the sense of community.”

Data tariffs quoted by the network’s official website also range between R10 for 15MB, to R250 for 2GB.-Onwardchristianradio.co.za
