Robin Hood is a heroic outlaw of English folklore often portrayed as robbing the rich and giving the loot to the poor.

Moyo initially refused Friday to respond to media reports claiming had sought protection from the Zanu PF politburo as anti-corruption agents tried to arrest him.

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) is reportedly keen to talk to Moyo over fraud charges involving the Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (Zimdef) – a department in his ministry.

Media reports claimed ZACC agents tried to arrest Moyo as he attended Wednesday’s Zanu PF politburo meeting only to be blocked by President Robert Mugabe.

The minister then failed to attend Thursday’s official opening of Parliament by Mugabe, pleading a heavy bout of flu.

He then took to Twitter to refuse to talk about the media reports.

The minister is accused of benefitting from close to US$270,000 which was corruptly syphoned out of Zimdef by ministry and fund officials.

Leaked documents claim that Moyo, through his personal assistant, allegedly used close to US$50 000 from the fund to purchase bicycles, which he distributed to his constituency as well as a US$24 000 loan which he has since repaid.

The minister appeared not to deny the allegations on Twitter, instead claiming that such irregularities were common and par for the course in government.

Below at the tweets in which the minister sought to defend himself while hitting out at a “cruel tribalist, murderer and UN identified cross-border diamond thief” he however did not name.-NEWZIMBABWE
