Roki, Eriza collaborate

HARARE – After featuring on Jah Prayzah’s video Eriza, vivacious Lyn Magodo aka Lady Storm has discovered the power of collaborations as she is working on a duet with Rockford ‘‘Roki’’ Josphats.

Magodo, who fronts rhumba outfit Swagga Band, told the Daily News yesterday in Harare at City Sports Bar’s weekly Jam Session that she has collaborated with Roki on a love song to be released next month.

“The track has been recorded at Kenako Studios and we are both looking forward to it. It is only that Roki is always busy on other projects but surely the track will come out in April,” said Magodo.

Last week, the former Big Brother participant — Roki — was performing in Cyprus and apart from that, he is also busy putting some final touches to his forthcoming album which is expected within the first quarter of the year.

“I have been very critical of this particular project and I want my fans to get the best of me on whatever I lay my hands on,” said Roki.

Magodo is yet to title the song she collaborated on with Roki.

Magodo, also known as Eriza, already has an album Ndisvikewo under her name but she was ushered into limelight late last year thanks to Jah Prayzah’s Eriza video.

The 22-year-old artiste attracted so much attention on the video as she showcased her dancing skills donning a school uniform, a development that has resulted in the bulk of commercial sex workers putting on skimpy school uniforms at “work”.

The ex-soldier had a video titled Usandibate which was released mid last year before Jah Prayzah’s Jerusarema DVD.

“I believe the video is one of the best in the country but it only lacked publicity. I do not know how best I can make it known to fans,” said Magodo.

Magodo relinquished the army job due to health reasons.

“I resigned from the army mainly because I had suffered from ulcers,” she said.
