MVUMA – A suspected rapist from Mvuma who was on the run since 2012 says he failed to attend court sessions because he grew big boobs that kept him moving from one place to another looking for help from traditional healers.
William Makuru (39) of Stand number 2, Goodhope in Mvuma is charged with raping an eight-year-old girl from the neighbourhood.
He suspects that he was bewitched by relatives of the complainant.
Reliable sources told The Mirror that he was re-arrested at Drifontein Mission near Mvuma on Tuesday and was brought to Mvuma Magistrate Courts but his trial could not take place after it was established that his record was in Gweru.
Asked why he has been defaulting on court appearances, Makuru pulled up his shirt and showed prosecutors and Police officers at Mvuma big boobs that developed on his chest. He allegedly told them that his breasts started to grow after the rape case and the one that sprouted out first is the breast on the left side.
He said he was so scared of the development that he had been going
around looking for traditional healers to help him reverse the process.
The Mirror is told that Makuru is expected to appear at the Gweru Magistrates
Court this week.
It is the State case that between Januaryand March 2012, the accused was in his bedroom and called the complainant to enter. He allegedly undressed himself and
the complainant before laying her on the bed where he raped her once. He threatened to assault her if she told anyone but the complainant revealed
the ordeal to her relative. The accused was arrested but defaulted on court appearances. He was recently spotted by some relatives of the complainant at Drifontein and they tipped the Police who arrested him.-Mirror
