Simon Khaya Moyo Explains Why Mnangagwa Is Not Campaigning For 2018 Elections

Zanu-PF spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo has dismissed allegations that President Emmerson Mnangagwa is not actively campaigning because he has a plan to rig the 2018 elections.

The allegations have been made by former cabinet minister Professor Jonathan Moyo who claimed that Mnangagwa and Vice President, retired General Constantino Chiwenga had a plan to rig the 2018 Elections. Writing on Twitter, Moyo said,

Why are Mnangagwa & Chiwenga not on the ground campaigning with polls 4 months away?

A. They’ ve a rigging plan

B. Army will do another coup

C. They’ve given up. MID (Military Intelligence Directorate), CIO (Central Intelligence Organisation) & Rugeje’s Commissariat surveys give ED 15% of the presidential vote & #JuntaPF 60 out of 210 constituencies!

However, Khaya-Moyo said that Mnangagwa was not campaigning yet because Zanu-PF is still to launch its manifesto. Said Khaya-Moyo,

Campaigns begin when we launch our manifesto. None of us are (sic) campaigning. We do not start campaigning before the launch of the manifesto. That is what the position is…I cannot talk about 2013. We are talking about 2018.
