Charlie Kutyauripo murder trial:Teen Knifed Through Heart

The trial of a 16-year-old boy, accused of murdering Charlie Kutyauripo outside a birthday party, will start at the Old Bailey today.

A teenager stabbed his former school friend to death at a girl’s 16th birthday party after falling out over a tracksuit, a court heard.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, plunged a large kitchen knife into the heart of Charlie Kutyauripo, also 16, outside a sports centre in Woodford, east London.
Prosecutor Louis Mably told jurors the 15cm-deep wound that sliced through the victim’s left ventricle was almost certain to result in Charlie’s death. Police arrived to find him collapsed and bleeding heavily, and despite doctors’ desperate attempts to save his life, Charlie was pronounced dead at Whipps Cross University hospital, in Leytonstone at around 10.30pm on 9 January this year.
The Old Bailey heard the pair had been good pals at Ilford’s King Solomon High School but had fallen out after they both left in the spring of 2014.
