Scores of people – including adults – jostled to catch a glimpse of the comic character who was accompanied by Wellington Chindara who plays the role Chairman and his wife Kumbirai Chikonye who plays the role of Mbuya Mai John in the second edition.

The much-awaited DVD, which should have hit the streets early this year, was released last week and according to showbiz followers, the DVD has been selling like hot cakes.

Lack of funding hampered it early release. The DVD was produced and fine tuned in China.

The hilarious Mubaiwa and his colleagues spent close to three hours roaming around Mutare’s Central Business District urging people to grab a new copy of the DVD which is a potential seller.

In a previous interview with The Weekender, the Masvingo-based actor said he was expecting to get more money from the newly-released project comparing to the last two editions.

He bemoaned the cancerous scourge of piracy saying it was heavily affecting their line of business.

“We virtually got nothing from Sabhuku Vharazipi 1 and 2 but since we were cleverer, we managed to get something from the second edition though it was not as per our expectations,” said the partly bald-headed Mubaiwa.

“The new project has many intriguing scenes that will surely keep viewers captivated and spellbound. The new DVD has new faces after we lost some of our members due to various reasons. I am glad to say that they are equally talented.

In a separate interview, Chairman was buoyant that the DVD will take them places.
