Wife pulls hubby’s privates as punishment for adultery

A MUTARE court had to grant a binding protection order against a warring couple whose marriage is on the brink of collapsing due to infidelity and physical abuse. The matter was heard at the Civil Courts after the wife applied for maintenance and also sought protection against her husband whom she described as abusive.wife-pulls-hubbys-2-640x292

However, the case took a new twist when Kennedy Mwakazvida revealed that his wife, Christine Chanaiwa, had at one time pulled his private parts as apparent punishment for adultery. Ms Anniah Ndiraya presided over the matter.

Mwakazvida told the court that Chanaiwa dragged his private parts as a way of getting back at him since he had an adulterous affair and sired a child out of wedlock.

“We always have arguments over the child that I sired out of wedlock. On this particular day, we were in our bedroom when she got hold of my private parts Your Worship. She tightened her grip as she pulled them off (sic). However, I managed to loosen her grip and we started exchanging blows,” he said.

Mwakazvida said their marriage was dry with no romance. He said his wife was failing to forgive him over the child though he apologised a long time back.

“Your Worship, she is also in the habit of verbally assaulting and insulting me. It has become the order of the day and she also denies me my conjugal rights,” he added.

In her application, Chanaiwa said her husband was an abusive man who was also neglecting the welfare of their children even though he was financially stable. She made a child and spousal monthly maintenance application of $250.

Mwakazvida who is employed by the District Development Fund (DDF) had offered $60 saying he was in the process of repaying a bank loan. Ms Ndiraya ordered him to pay $70 as well as pay all school fees and clothing for his minor child.-Manicapost
