“I will go if you tell me I am no longer fit”- Mugabe tells veterans

President Robert Mugabe yesterday told war collaborators, ex-detainees, ex-restrictees and widows of fallen heroes that he is ready to step down if they tell him he is no longer fit but he has to retire properly.robert-and-grace-mugabe-laughing

He said he had stayed in power for so long to fend off the West which wanted to destabilise Zimbabwe.

Mugabe has been at the helm of Zimbabwe for 36 years, the first seven as Prime Minister.
