MASVINGO – Scores of people residing in buildings at Masvingo Show Ground are going to be moved in December to allow for the holding of the Zanu PF annual conference at the venue.
Acting Zanu PF chairman for Masvingo Province, Amana Nhenjana said that those who stay at the Showground will be relocated for security reasons.
“Those who stay at the conference venue (Showground) will be moved to one place in the same premises for security reasons and all the vehicles that have been abandoned for a long time will be removed. Some of the structures will also be demolished so that the large tent where the conference will be held can be easily pitched and more entrances are created,” said Nhenjana.
He added that a preparatory meeting will be held at the conference venue on Saturday this week to give update on the progress. We are going to invite all those who have the capacity to assist us with bulldozers, front end loaders and builders for the construction of a clinic at the venue,” he said.
Nhenjana said all was going on well and the 45 cattle that were pledged by Killer Zivhu have been confirmed. The organising committee has pegged 45 cattle for the 6000 delegates expected for the 5 day Indaba.
“Obviously the cattle have been secured and they will be slaughtered in due course and stored at different places. We agreed that each district will contribute 5 cattle and Chivi has already fulfilled its mandate, if there are any left overs we will allow delegates to take the meat home,” said the acting chairman
