Zimbabwe Court Okays Virginity Sale For $2 000 To Married Lover

Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Martin Makonese upheld a decision by the Magistrates Court to award $2 000 to a Bulawayo woman as seduction damages. Justice Makonese dismissed an appeal by Joel Moyo who challenged the decision of Bulawayo magistrate Mr Sheunesu Matova to award his ex-girlfriend Nataly Madziwa $ 2000 as compensation for breaking her virginity and breach of a marriage promise.

Madziwa accused Moyo of seducing her into having sex after promising to marry her during their relationship while she was still an Upper Six pupil at Pumula High School in 2015. In her lawsuit, she demanded $8 000 in seduction damages, saying her chances of getting married had diminished after she lost her virginity. She said she only discovered that Moyo was married when she fell pregnant.

Moyo tried to argue that Madziwa was already sexually active when they indulged in sex, but the court dismissed his application.
