What we know about Roland Muchegwa

Roland Muchegwa may have intended to stay out of trouble and avoid unwanted attention but in the age of social media, anything captured on camera will find its way online.

A harmless video showing two girls dancing at a petrol station went viral after people noticed that the man who featured in it (around the 00:08 mark) was Roland Muchegwa.

The 51-year-old has garnered a reputation as a blesser, someone who flaunts his riches and provides financial support to women in exchange for sexual relations.

Soon after the video went viral, images showing Roland Muchegwa pictured with different women surfaced on social media. It was also established, through research, that the 51-year-old is a wanted fugitive in Zimbabwe for allegedly grievously assaulting his former wife, Mitchell Kawome, in 2015.

We did a little digging and this is what we know about the alleged wifebeater-turned-viral-blesser.

Where is he based?

According to reports, Roland Muchegwa has multiple addresses (this is necessary when you are a fugitive). However, it is believed that he frequents his home in Mount Pleasant, a residential suburb located in the northern part of Harare, a lot.

How many children does he have?

Initially, it was believed that Roland Muchegwa is a father of two children, who he shares with his ex-wife, Kawome. However, new information has surfaced that he allegedly has eight children with four different mothers.

As an estranged parent that pops expensive champagne with different women every time he is out partying, it’s alleged that Roland Muchegwa does not support his children financially.

What is his profession?

This is the one thing everyone has been trying to figure out. What exactly does he do? Well, the details around his profession are sketchy. However, reports suggest that the 51-year-old is somehow involved in the illicit transporting and sale of fuel, from South Africa to Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe authorities have not, as far as we know, issued any notices on the matter related to their case against Muchegwa. Also, the Twitter account that surfaced, claiming to be the 51-year-old, is a parody account.
