Visiting Ghanaian clergyman Ebo Ankah has heaped praises on President Mugabe for his astute leadership, saying Zimbabweans are lucky to have him.
Reverend Edo Ankah, the international director of the ongoing Healing Jesus Campaign that is headlined by Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills, said this at a ladies’ breakfast meeting in Harare yesterday.
The meeting, which drew women from various sectors, with the Minister of State for Harare Miriam Chikukwa as guest of honour, is one of several interdenominational crusades across 14 towns and cities in Zimbabwe.
“You guys need to thank your President. You should be grateful because he has protected your nation from many evils. You look at South Africa, your neighbour, and things are so much different; so many things are happening there.
“Where I come from in Ghana, Accra is our capital city. There are things that you take for granted here but are a treasure in my country and many other countries,” Rev Ankah said.
His countryman Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng has described President Mugabe as Africa’s most learned leader and a man makes decisions based on knowledge rather than mere sentiment.
Rev Ankah also marvelled at Zimbabwe’s beauty.
“Sometimes you need to travel to see the beauty of where you are standing. Sometimes you need an outsider to come and tell you this. Zimbabwe is so blessed,” he said to wild cheers.
Minister Chikukwa urged the nation to spring into action to build the economy.
“This economy won’t change by talking or fighting the Government. In our quietness, we will move mountains,” she said.
Pastor Maureen Shana, the chairperson of the Women’s Advisory Committee, Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe, said a clean-up campaign would be held in Harare on Wednesday while a targeted 5 000 women would participate in the Jesus March on November 26, 2016.
Evangelist Heward-Mills and his entourage flew into Zimbabwe early this month for the crusades that have been running from November 9 until December 18.
Kadoma, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls have already been ministered to by the evangelist, and he will visit Beitbridge, Marondera, Chitungwiza and Chinhoyi, among other places.
The interdenominational campaign has been held in over 90 countries and brings people together regardless of denomination, tribe and nationality.
