Zimbabwe brush aside Uganda’s Cranes

Zimbabwe overcame Uganda 2-0 in an international friendly game which was played at the Rufaro Stadium in Harare on Tuesday.

Chicken Inn star Teenage Hadebe was the hero for the home side. The defender netted twice for Zimbabwe from identical set-pieces.

Kudakwashe Mahachi, who plies his trade in South Africa for Mamelodi Sundowns, was involved in both goals as took the corner-kicks.

The two teams used the game as preparation for the upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers which will be played this weekend.

Uganda’s Cranes will take on Botswana in the AFCON Group D qualifier at the Francistown Sports Complex in Francistown on Saturday.

The Warriors of Zimbabwe are scheduled to host Malawi in the AFCON Group L qualifier at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Sunday.
