Tanga wekwa Sando for Misty’s gig

Township love rhythms maestro Tanga WekwaSando currently riding high with his new release “Joburg Bound” is expected to delight his fans tomorrow at Misty’s located the Newlands Shopping Centre.

The new album, which features an English version of his smash hit, “Nyenyedzi YeMugovera”, has another club banger “Joburg Bound” on its playlist which is taking over the dance scene by surprise.

“It is always good to perform at Misty’s which is an upmarket and intimate venue. I look forward to a great show and amazing crowd. Fans should expect to see a quartet or a quintet at the show,” Tanga said.

He promised fans a mixture of old and new hits including “Love Aziko” and “Katsindi”, a favourite of many.

Over the past year, Tanga has been diligently working on this particular project that he is convinced is ready for the market.

“Simply translated, the album ‘Joburg Bound’ is conventional and the whole concept is deeply rooted in my belief that through this project I aim to achieve world listenership that will pave way for new avenues in my illustrious career,” he said.

Like the old adage which says you can change the frame but not the picture, the new album still sounds like Tanga of the old.

“However, the fact that I have introduced a house feel does not mean that I have changed from the usual Tanga that fans familiarised themselves with but the idea was to come up with a unique and appealing project to the global audience,” he said.

The title of the album chronicles the narrative of extensive migration of people regionally and internationally to South Africa which, according to the Kora All Music Awards nominee, has become the ‘‘African New York’’.

As time flies along don’t forget to treat yourself, friends and family .

Misty’s is an upmarket live music venue offering the best live entertainment in the capital as well as popular for its good food, drinks and vibe.
